Cat behaviourist
How it works
I will always listen carefully to your concerns and work with you to find a solution that not only works for your cat but also supports the needs of your entire household. There is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to animal behaviour therapy, and I believe in collaborating closely with you to ensure the plan works for everyone involved.
Step 1: Questionnaire
To get started, you’ll fill out a brief questionnaire about your cat’s behaviour, environment, and any challenges they’re facing. I may also ask for a short video that demonstrates the behaviour you’re concerned about. This helps me understand the situation in detail.
Step 2: Consultation
Next, we’ll schedule a meeting - either in person or online depending on your location. During this session, we’ll discuss your cat’s behaviour in-depth, their environment, and any health or emotional issues they may be dealing with. I’ll also take the time to observe your cat in their natural environment. This includes how they interact with you, your family, any other pets, and how they respond to their surroundings. By seeing them in action, I can gain a deeper understanding of their behaviour, stress triggers, and overall dynamics within the home. This insight helps me tailor the plan to suit your cat's individual needs.
Step 3: Action Plan & Support
After our consultation, I’ll provide you with a detailed behaviour report and an action plan to address the unwanted behaviours. I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way with helpful tips and advice on how to implement the plan.
Step 4: Follow up
Two weeks after our consultation, I like to check in with you to see how things are progressing. This follow-up meeting gives us the opportunity to review the action plan and make any necessary adjustments to ensure it’s working for both you and your cat. We’ll discuss any challenges you may be facing and fine-tune the plan as needed.
For more complex cases, I offer ongoing support through fortnightly online sessions. These sessions provide continued guidance and help you stay on track, with flexible scheduling to fit your lifestyle.
